Andrew J. Mandell, Founder and Chairman
Andy and his wife Joyce Mandell, started Data-Mail 40 years ago in 1971 with modest beginnings in Newington CT. Since that time the company has grown substantially from a few key employees to over 800 within two facilities. Andy is very active in key management decisions at the company, particularly relating to capital expenditures for new equipment and technology. Andy is also very philanthropic in the community working closely with numerous charities that depend on he and his family for financial support.
Joyce Mandell, Executive Vice President
Since Joyce and her husband Andy Mandell started Data-Mail, her focus has been on the financial and administrative aspect of growing the business. Additionally, she has been involved in property management, and the administration of various real estate holdings. Mrs. Mandell is a general partner of MBM Limited Partnership, an investment company, since 1988 and is President of the Andrew J. and Joyce D. Mandell Family Foundation. Through the years, Mrs. Mandell has been actively involved in numerous community organizations at the board level including the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hartford, The Greater Hartford Arts Council and the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford. Mrs. Mandell is a past President and Chairman of the Board of the Greater Hartford Jewish Community Center, the first woman to hold those positions. She serves as a Trustee of the Jewish Community Foundation. Mrs. Mandell has recently been elected to the Board of Directors of St. Francis Hospital.
Bruce Mandell, Esq., President
Bruce is the President of Data-Mail, Inc. Bruce is the past President of the Board of Mail Fulfillment Service Association (MFSA) New England Chapter and is presently a Member of the Privacy Council of the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) and a Member of the Board of Directors for Printing Industry of America (PIA) Connecticut. Bruce graduated Tufts University, magna cum laude, in 1986 and graduated Georgetown University Law Center, cum laude, in 1990.
Mark Mandell, Senior VP, Finance and Technology
Mark manages finance and accounting; data processing, application development and MIS; postal affairs; and marketing and strategic planning. Mark is in charge of developing new products and services, including I-mail and intelisent, and represents Data-Mail in industry associations including the Direct Marketing Association (DMA), the Association for Postal Commerce (PostCom), and the Mailing and Fulfillment Services Association (MFSA).
Scott Braunstein, Esq., Senior VP, Operations and Human Resources
Scott has direct responsibility for all production operations and our Human Resources department. Scott has been with Data-Mail as a senior manager for the last nine years. Prior to joining Data-Mail he was a successful litigation attorney in New York City and is an alumnus of George Washington University. Scott is very philanthropic in the Greater Hartford Community.
Kerry Hannify, Director of Quality and Operational Initiatives
Kerry has worked in the Quality Field for 20 years, specifically in direct mail and at Data-Mail for 14 years. Kerry has a Masters of Science in Engineering Management, and is currently pursuing her doctorate of the same. She is a member of the ANSI X9 committee responsible for writing and revising MICR check specifications, a Certified Mail piece Quality Control Specialist through the USPS, a past Board Member of the PCC (Postal Customer Council), and a past Board Member of MFSA (Mailing Fulfillment Service Association). Kerry is responsible for all Quality and Operational Initiatives encompassing administering internal and external Corrective Actions, training of Data-Mail employees and clients, assisting in the writing of procedures, acting as a postal liaison, and assisting in new creative design.
Shawn Asselin, Sales Manager
Shawn Asselin joined Data-Mail in 2009 as the Sales Manager. Since that time, he has focused on finding new strategic sales opportunities and aligning Data-Mail with the largest and most successful companies in their industry. Shawn has 25 years experience in the direct mail envelope converting and paper industries. He began his career with Westvaco's Envelope Division in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1986 and later joined National Envelope Corporation at their company's headquarters in New York City and held the position of VP Sales for ten years before leaving the company in 2005 to join Central Lewmar in Newark, New Jersey as a VP of Sales and Operations. He holds a BS in Marketing and an MBA.
Chris Bennett, Chief Technology Officer
Chris Bennett joined Data-Mail as CTO and Director of Data Center Operations in January of 2006. At Data-Mail, in addition to overseeing daily Data Center operations, Chris also founded a new company department, intelisent, which is dedicated to helping mailers increase their marketing results by building systems that translate complex operational data into actionable information. Prior to joining Data-Mail, Chris held numerous leadership positions at Acxiom Corporation, the world's largest customer information management firm based in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Chris has been a technology leader in the areas of massively distributed computing, open source software development methodology, statistical analysis, and data quality. Chris was also responsible for the creation of Acxiom's Rapid Innovation Business Unit, which produces new marketing information products each year.
In his work with the Unites States Postal Service, Chris received the USPS Special Achievement Award in 2003 for Innovations in Address Quality. In 2004, Chris was the keynote speaker at ComputerWorld's Grid Computing Symposium in Boston, Massachusetts, and has been a regular speaker at the USPS' National Postal Forums.
